Welcome from the Headteacher

GOVT IQ recognises Barton Moss Primary School as 1 of the most Improved Schools 2020

I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed as the new Head Teacher for Barton Moss Primary School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.

I have been a Teacher and a Senior Leader across Salford for 9 years and then 3 years ago, I was appointed as a Head Teacher to Bowness Primary School in Bolton, part of Prestolee Multi Academy Trust. Over the last 4 years, I have led the school from Requires Improvement to Good with Outstanding Features (October 2018). This was as a result of everyone working together relentlessly. Teaching is my passion and nothing beats influencing children’s outcomes. Being part of Prestolee Multi Academy Trust is such a pleasure to be a part of and brings about so many opportunities.

I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead Barton Moss. Parents and carers are understandably nervous about the changes across school and the impact this will have on standards here. Having two children of my own, I understand how change can affect how children feel about school. Please be assured the children are always at the heart of every decision made. The school remains a happy school and my intentions are only ever to improve the standards and outcomes and life opportunities for our children.

As a leader of the school, my main job along with Mrs C Woolley, Deputy Head Teacher, is to make sure children are safe, happy and achieving well. The staff and I will be spending the next term making sure all routines become embedded, learning continues to be settled, and high expectations continue to rise. I believe children should feel welcome, inspired, safe and supported when they are learning.

I hold a strong belief that parents make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school, and I look forward to continuing this relationship over the coming years.

Welcome to our website, we hope you find it informative.
